STILL BECOMING

I’m Tina, and I’m still figuring out what kind of artist—and person—I want to become. I have never grown in just one place. Studios, museums, classrooms, sports, travel, and small moments with the people around me have all become part of who I am. Art gives me a way to bring these different experiences together and to look more closely at people, animals, places, and the traces life leaves behind. I like being in this stage of still searching and still trying. For me, growing up is not about leaving the past behind, but carrying pieces of it into whatever I make next.
